This option actually appeared before the pinch post but never the less they fed off of eachother. In the early 90's the continuation was a handoff between the passer and the player who flashed to the high post (if the back cut was not available). In the second half of the 90's the continuation became a down screen for a shooter coming out of the corner and allowing space for the receptor to play 1 on 1. In 2010 this option was used as much as a high post entry as a pressure release.
